Mutual Classroom Observation (Observer & Observee) and Peer Mentoring Project
In order to create a stimulating environment for EMI classroom observation and increase peer observation opportunities, NSYSU has launched an EMI classroom observation project for teachers who have completed the Senior-level courses with an aim for training seed teachers to conduct classroom observation. This project encourages teachers search for collaborators to observe each other's EMI classes during the second semester of the 2021 Academic Year. The primary goal of this project is to provide seed teachers with an opportunity to practice providing feedback to their peers. To ensure the quality of the feedback from the peer observation, we invited experienced scholars with multi-year EMI observation experiences to give feedback on the seed teachers’ observation comments. The advices are then reconfirmed by the seed teachers and given back to their peer teachers. Another feature of this project is that the implementation is also recognized as the requirements of “Classroom Observation” of Junior level and “Peer Mentoring” of Senior level in our EMI Professional Development Program.
