Pilot Teachers
NSYSU revised “Teaching Improvement Guidelines” and “Pilot Teacher Appointment Guidelines” to improve faculty EMI teaching capacity. The University appointed teachers who are qualified for the pilot teachers to provide other teachers with the teaching enhancement services, such as micro-teaching or individual meetings. Teachers can select suitable pilot teachers and apply for microteaching services from the Center (EMI courses are preferred). This micro-teaching could be adopted in forms of classroom observation or remote online observation. The pilot teachers observe the teacher’s teaching and give feedback after class to help the teacher improve teaching. Teachers who finish a micro-teaching could be regarded as fulfilling the requirement of “teaching demonstration” in the EMI faculty training program.
For NSYSU faculty, records of teachers who apply for classroom observation services (being observed for one class period) and complete the observation will be uploaded to the teacher evaluation system and the EMI teacher training platform. These records will serve as proof for teacher evaluations, promotions, and the issuance of training certificates.
