EMI Course Quality Assurance
EMI QA

Full Project Name: Office of Academic Affairs EMI Course Quality Assurance Questionnaire

Objective: To assess, improve, and achieve the goal of bilingual education.

Among the 4 EMI benchmark universities in Taiwan, NSYSU has taken a leading role in advancing EMI QA. Moving beyond conceptual discussions, the Office of Academic Affairs has established a systematic, multi-level QA framework, namely the Office of Academic Affairs EMI Course Quality Assurance (OAAQA) Project.

Eligibility: Full-time and contract faculty (but not adjunct faculty) who is offering EMI courses may participate. Those who offer lecture-based EMI courses may be rewarded (See the Guidelines on Rewarding Faculty Offering EMI Courses)

Application Period: From today until Week 14 of the semester (by 5:00 PM, December 11, 2026)

Implementation:

  1. Beginning of semester:Download the "Course Registration and Sample File" from the website. Referring to the sample page, complete the "Beginning-of-Semester Course Data Collection" section marked in
yellow in the upper half of the course tab, and then upload it to the "OAAQA Registration" area.
  2. Weeks 11–13 (Monday, November 16 to Friday, December 4): Encourage students to complete the online student survey (it is sufficient for the instructor to have actually engaged in encouraging behavior at that time; the student response rate will not affect the instructor's eligibility for the EMI Course Incentive).
  3. End of semester (by January 4, 2027): Download the file the instructor provided at the beginning of the semester from the website. Complete the "End-of-Semester Individual Student Grades" section marked in green in the lower half of the course tab, then upload it to the "End-of-Semester File Upload" area.
